Lounge

We’re very excited to be starting The Lounge, the new fortnightly Sunday evening event for young adults and students that replace life in 3d and the student life group.

Starting into the world of work and going to university are such important moments in our lives, with many people our age are dropping out of church because of work, studies and relationships. So we wanted to do more, we hope this group will be a way to help us support each other.

In the past we’ve really enjoyed eating together! It’s been a great way for us to get to know each other and enjoy some good food! So it seemed a no-brainer for this new event to be formed around a meal together. We’ll meet together to worship God, think deeper about him, pray for one another and then have dinner. 

This term, we’re going to be looking at some chapters from ‘Crazy Love’ by Francis Chan, it’s about living radically for Jesus, I’m reading it at the moment, it’s really challenging, Francis says that living radically for Jesus isn’t just something for the pastor and missionaries, it’s what Jesus expects of all his disciples!

If you’re wondering what the campfire photo has got to do with all this?! We were inspired by a video we saw by rend collective, it’s called the ‘Campfire Story’, a group of friends gathered in an intimate, safe, warm environment round a fire (Our great God!)… We hope that maybe The Lounge will be a bit like a campfire for us too.

The first one is this Sunday, I can’t wait!
