City Partnerships
To serve the needs of our city and the people who live and work in it we are involved with and connected to a number of different groups and projects:
  • Love Southampton - an initiative of the churches working together to love our neighbours in the city in practical ways, to communicate efficiently with the city council and to focus on specific areas of need.
  • Southampton City Mission and Basics Bank -  delivering Christian schools work across the City and providing emergency food and clothes to those in need in Southampton.
  • Southampton Street Pastors - engaging with people on the streets to care for them, listen to them and help them, working together with other partners in the night-time economy to make communities safer.
  • The Gate and The Waterfall - providing support, guidance and prayer to empower women within the sex industry to make healthy lifestyle choices and to help women who have addictions and life-controlling issues to regain their dignity and confidence.
  • Society of St James (Alcohol Pathfinder Service) and Southampton Active Recovery - peer support groups helping to create an environment of opportunity, choice and hope for people affected by their alcohol issues.
  • Friends International is a Christian charity which seeks to befriend and support international students during their time in the UK as well as introduce them to Jesus Christ. They, in partnership with the churches, organise a range of social events and activities for international students. For details, see their website: fisuk.org
Skipper or buoy?
I'm sitting looking out at a boat, it is a beautiful little sailing boat, white, with a raised cabin with three fine portholes.
