Coronavirus: Our Response

Coronavirus: Our Response
Friday 20th March 2020

Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

All of the activities where we physically come together in groups or gatherings have to be stopped for the moment. But we know that the Church is not ultimately about buildings or gatherings but people connected to Jesus and one another. So we want to live as those connected people in other ways.

On Sundays we worship, hear God’s Word, learn together, pray and even share news and stories by watching online and sharing with others through our small groups by WhatsApp or phone.

If you would like to be a part of this please get in touch by emailing admin@portswood.org.uk

We are also working with other churches to provide a centralised church response to the Covid-19 crisis. This partnership is called Love Southampton. Love Southampton are gathering volunteers to refer people to specialist partners and provide phone support for those in need of befriending and practical support for those in need of essential supplies. For full details of the partners go to the Love Southampton Website (http://www.lovesouthampton.org.uk/).

If you are in need of support or would like to refer someone for support, please complete your details on this form: https://airtable.com/shrKdFltSDP3b1AlA.

If you would like to volunteer with the churches, to help the city, please express your interest on this form: https://airtable.com/shrKdFltSDP3b1AlA

Coronavirus - Our Response
We're no longer meeting in our building but we're still together as "church" and also seeking to serve the wider community.
